Robert Lynch named to Viasys Healthcare Technical Advisory Board

WILMINGTON, Mass., July, 2002 / Robert Lynch, Director of Technology for Tecomet, has been named to the Viasys Healthcare Technical Advisory Board (TAB). Viasys, the parent company of Tecomet, is a worldwide leader in the Respiratory Care, Critical Care, and Neuro-Care fields. “It is important that Tecomet be associated with the various R&D teams of the Viasys group and share our experience and expertise in the applications of metal processing in the medical device field, therefore, contributing to the success of the group,” said Rick Horrigan, President of Tecomet and Thermedics Polymer Products. Bob Lynch has been with Tecomet since 1995 when he was hired to make available on the market a new product to improve images in mammography. Most recently, Bob and his development team have successfully developed Tecotex®, Tecomet’s revolutionary 3-D texture for rapid fixation of bone and tissues on orthopedic and various implants.

Bob began his career in 1971 at Thermo Electron’s Biomedical Systems Division. His early work included the development of the artificial heart and numerous disposable products.
